iPhone Finally

The second generation iPhone or simply called the iPhone 3G(S) was launched last Friday (10 July 2009) here in Singapore. The opening of the gate of Singtel was 8PM, but I heard from a friend that the queue started to built up around 4PM. I tried my luck last Friday and see if I can squeeze in. I reached SingTel at 10PM and I was so shocked to see the very loooong queue which according to customer service will take me 6 hours in order to reach the booth for iPhone. And so I went home for the first time without iPhone.

Came the next day (11 July 2009, Saturday). I came back to SingTel at 11AM cos the gate will only be opened at 10AM, but the same story goes. It was a long trail of people trying to have the iPhone at first hand than the rest of Singapore people. The estimated waiting time was 5 hours, this is something that I cannot ever ever take. For the second time, I went home without iPhone.
I visited a friend from Manila (Sheryll) who happened to have been celebrating her birthday in Singapore. I travelled to her house just before the dinner and I was surprised to see some familiar faces around. It is such a small world after all! Hindi ako nagtagal sa house kasi I want to go back to SingTel and try mu luck again. And this time round, ito na ang pangatlo kong pagtatangka na i-redeem ang iPhone reservation ko. I reached SingTel at 10PM, as usual my pila pa din pero hindi na kasing OA like nung dalawang beses ako na nagpunta. This time round, 2-3 hours na lang ang estimated waiting time. This is really is it! Hindi ako pumayag na umuwi uli ng bahay na walang bitbit na iPhone. I am so joining the queue no matter what. Tsk tsk tsk.

It wasn't very long until I reached the iPhone booth, it took me less than an hour to be exact. There were couple of familiar faces in the queue (Mark my officemate) na kailangan kaming magsigawan para mag-usap. And I met another good guy na katabi ko sa pila dahil bumilib daw sya sa ingay ko and that I saved our batch sa pakikipagtalo ko sa isang SingTel staff na gusto kami gawing less priority sa pila by giving way to another batch of people. Hindi sila pwede sa Pinoy!

I finally reached the counter. And I got my iPhone 3G(S). I am proud to be the first batch of mapapalad na nakahawak ng latest iPhone.
