June 10, 2010 (Thursday) - has become a memorable day for me because it was the day I have never expected would ever happen on me .... Without further ado, I finally got my new babe ....

Grabe ang kaba ko nung nalaman ko na dumating na ang Singapore stocks, ilang buwan din ako na nag-plano na lumipad sa Hong-Kong ng balikan lang, para lang talaga bilin ang kapana-panabik na lente. Then the news finally has broken, kaya after work, sugod ako sa suking tindahan. Walang sabi-sabi, withdraw ng pera at umuwi akong hindi mai-explain ang ngiti ko.

Cindy's Prenup Photoshoot

It was on June 5, 2010 (Saturday) when I woke at 5:00AM for my friend, Cindy's prenup photoshooting. It was, as I considered it, my very first professional (daw) free photoshooting service. The photos are not yet published elsewhere, but as the owner of the shots, I, and I alone has the copyright. And I thought, it is theoretically legal to post few of the shots I took. Location, Botanical Garden.

Long Weekend

That long weekend started on the eve of May 27, 2010 - Thursday. Isang matinding pagkabagot ang inabot ko while I was watching TV in my room. Ang male gimmick buddy is out of the country kaya wala akong mahatak na gumimmick on a late night. Then suddenly, nagka-idea ako na lumabas na lang mag-isa with my camera (although plan ko na din na ito ang gagawin ko in case mainip talaga ako sa bahay) at sumugod ako sa Raffles Place.

With everything I need and I want, nag-umpisa na akong mag-click ng camera. Nakakatuwa pala sa Raffles at around 11PM, kasi ine-expect ko na solo ko ang place, pero yun din pala ang time ng mga serious photographers, kaya nakapila kami sa pag-shot ng nagniningning na Singapore.

This must be one of the first images I took as I just got out from the train when I saw this beautiful lights in front of Fullerton hotel. These kind of trees and light posts always remind me of Beverly Hills in California.

The image below created a very beautiful light effect after one boat passes by, a colorful boat that is. This is the Boat Quay, it has been ages since the last time I ever sat on any of their seats. Hmmm, I think it's about time I plan for a visit soon.

When I was out in the field recently for photo-shooting opp, I tend to look on my left, right, front, back, top, bottom, and etc. And these architectures really won't compromise the beautiful sight of Raffles Place.

After walking of about 2 hours, I moved to another site which was just few minutes walk, safe to say. I got fascinated by this bridge and was actually inspired by my mentors Wini and Tonet when they produced a lovely image of this bridge. And so I stopped under it, and assemble my stuff carefully, articulately that is and set the time to 10 seconds to avoid any form of movement which can destruct the crispness I have been wishing. Well, I got the bridge finally. I loved this.
Photography has becoming more and more dwelling on me right now, the fact is, I have never ever planned an oversea trip in my life than today. I will be in Surabaya Indonesia in July for a wedding, and an extra visit to a mountain to satisfy my photographic soul. In a couple of weeks time, I will be in Philippines where I am planning to have a short visit to Mt. Pinatubo (fingers crossed and really hoping that weather will favor me and of course my parents would allow me to use their wheels), if not, I will make my town beautiful in photos.

Botanical Garden

May 22, 2010 - Saturday. Isip ako ng place na pwede kong puntahan para mag-practice ng photoshooting. Pakiramdam ko kasi may magha-hire saken na magazine very soon, kaya ayokong mapahiya sa mga works na isa-submit ko ;-)

And so I realized na katabi lang pala ng new house ko ang Botanical Garden, not really katabi, pero very accessible ang place kaya sinugod ko ang Botanical ng 5:00PM, enough time para habulin ko ang natural effect ng sunset. It was a playful afternoon kasi kasama ko si Wini, Tonet and Guen. Parang mas madami pa ang kwentuhan namin than sa photoshooting, once in awhile humihinto ako sa lakad to take photos. And surprisingly, magaganda yung mga naiuwi kong image. Here are sample shots I got:

Photography as I look into it right now is a sports. Grabe ang pawis ko while taking photos, daig ko pa ang nagtatakbo ng ilang kilometro. To think na hindi naman mainit, pero tumatagaktak ang pawis ko.


We ended at 7:00PM and headed to The Cathay for the 9PM show of Shrek! Good movie.

Photoshooting and Gadget Shopping

I woke up very early in the morning, like 5:00 AM and I headed to Stadium Walk and met Wini and Tonet as we are scouting for the upcoming Prenup photoshooting of our friend, Cindy. I reached the venue at 6:30AM and I was greeted by a very beautiful image of Saturday morning.

We took few shots only and locate the best possible angle for the Prenup photos, tho I find it difficult to photograph the site minus the couple kasi I can't imagine a blank space, kaya I just took the nice view my keepsake.

After the photoshooting, the three of us headed to McDonald's for a good breakfast. Chit-chat ng walang humpay while naghihintay na magbukas ang Funan para sa ultimate shopping ng pinaka-papangarap kong tripod from Manfrotto.

At ito na nga ang pomosong tripod na pinaglalaruan ko na ngayon. The actual price of this whole set cost $$785 pero umarya ang pagiging ilokano ko at dinala ko ang baratilyo sa Singapore, kaya naging $650 na lang ang pagkamahal-mahal na tripod.
Last Friday naman, napasakamay ko na din ang bag na matagal-tagal ko na ding sinisipat-sipat. I took home the black one :)
