Booked an air ticket to Thailand

My mom and dad has undergone a painful moments during these past weeks and I want to do all the best I can in order to distress them from the lost of their brother.

Their forth-coming visit to Singapore (on January 30 - February 15) is considered to be a perfect time for them to unwind and relax, not to mention that they will also be celebrating their birthdays on Feb 5 and 7 here in my land.

I have been thinking of going out from Singapore during their 2-week stay and I propsed Phuket or Indonesia or Bangkok to them. God has been so good to me again and gave me a discounted air ticket to Bangkok, and so I grabbed the opportunity to book a flight there with my parents and JC right after their birthdays.

Went Oversea for a dinner and movie

January 10, 2009 - It was 5PM when my friends asked me to join for a dinner in Malaysia. And as i was just lazing in my room for the whole day, I gave a shot and joined them. We reached Malaysia at about 7:30PM and went straight to this restaurant made famous for their bee hoon. Seven of us came all the way down to this Malaysian town and shared bountiful dinner. We had 13 dishes (as I can recall).
The famous beehoon
Sambal veggy
Sizzling tofu with egg
Laksa prawn
deep fried tofu
After the dinner was over, we moved to a newly built shopping mall called Jusco. I told my friends that the shopping mall's name if translated in Tagalog will be "Oh my God". We shop for nearly 1.5 hours and I managed to get a pair of polo shirts (this was after I shopped non-stop in Philippines).

It was 11:50PM when the movie started to play. We decided to watch Bedtime Stories cos the movie ticket price in Malaysia is half the price compared to Singapore and the cinema quality is equally good.
A shot in front of the cinema's entrance.

We finally left the shopping mall at 1:30 AM. Had a supper nearby the Malaysian immigration and reached home at 3:00 AM.

Passengers

January 8, 2009 - As I was still in limbo during this day, I took another time off from work and let my boss knew my condition. After my long bakasyon sa pinas, parang lumabas ang pagod ko right after makabalik ako ng Singapore. I was just sleeping the whole day and visited clinic as well, para lang sure na wala akong dalang sakit.

Early noon, I catched this movie called Passengers. It is a predictable movie as I kind of know the ending just by catching the first 5 minutes of it. But nevertheless, this movie sent me to tears, if I am not mistaken, it was the first movie that touches me in many ways after a long long long while. The movie is about a lady who doesn't know that she is already dead. The last part of the movie breaks my heart as it features who picked her up from living to death. This scene somehow gets in my mind and I have thought of my Uncle for a while. Naisip ko lang bigla na baka pinagdaanan nya din yung ginawa ng character sa movie.

Philippine vacation

I want to say that I ended the year right .... and I started the year with a blast. I would probably concluded that my recent visit to Pinas was one of the highlights of my 2008. There are many things that didn't go with the plan or how I wanted it to be, but nevertheless, it was a worhtwhile moment spent with my family.

There were very sad moments in between my stay that changes our plans of going out of town. First was the death of my mom's brother. Second was the death of my cousin's brother in law (who happen to be 32 years old only). Third was the hospitalization of my Dad's brother. And soon as I reached Singapore, my sister sms me that he already passed away. These moments made everyone in the family closer, although in a very painful way. Three weeks in Philippines, 3 losses of beloved.

Yesterday, as I talked to my Dad, he was asking me to go back home again to attend my Uncle's wake. Up to this moment, I don't know what will happen next, I haven't spoken to my bosses yet but I have seen the loads in office tends to be bareable due to the recent holiday and the forth coming chinese new year.
