Giddy Child

Chiropractor

I asked few friends muna if they have tried this method pero none of my friends here in SG had one.

I called her in the morning, noon, afternoon, and while kumakain ako ng dinner.

That's my mom and dad! Talagang opposite attracts ... :)

But anyway, I hope I am on my way to finally ease my ever loving headache. Lintek lang ang walang ganti

Wanton Noodle

I was a little lost and confused where to go for my dinner as I was surrounded by tons of options. But I just kept walking at TPY searching for whatever which will send me drooling. I finally ended up at this very familiar place where I always walk pass by cos it is just beside the place where I often buy toiletries. I have never tried this restaurant as I don't find it very appetizing, but tonight, I just break the rule of my taste bud and tried what they have.

I ordered wanton noodle. And guess what? It was by far, the best wanton noodle I have ever tried in the universe of wanton.

Kaya naman ang plato ko .... now you see, now you don't.

SG Holiday

Today is a non-working holiday in Singapore, some Hindu event called Deepavali. I spent the whole morning in bed as as I woke up at almost 12 PM already. I just washed up and went to visit Amara for my haircut (exactly one month after I had my last haircut).

Amara is just few steps away from Joe's house so I went to visit him and collect so many stuff I got from Indonesia and Bangkok. Daig ko pa ang nag-shopping sa malaking paper bag na binigay sakin from all of my friends. These are some of the items I got.

We had dinner at the nearby restaturant and I had a Mini Wok (some kind of soup and noodle).

Saturday Movie

What is the fastest of way of filling my stomach on a lunch time where I am so lazy on going out for a meal? My life saver .... apple.

I went out around 2:30 PM and catched the 3:30PM show of Tropic Thunder. I was a little excited to laugh again but the movie didn't hit me at all. It looks like a low budget film actually although it was a compilation of Hollywood's big names. And I hated it cos I didn't recognize that one of the actors was Tom Cruise, he was dancing and cursing all throughout his scenes but I didn't care as I thought he was just one of those actors. It was a little dragging and I just didn't find it funny at all, in fact it was so gruesome. I don't think Ben Stiller will earn praises as director than what he is as a comedy actor. Thanks to my sugar coated peanut that makes me busy as I watched this film.
I went back home after movie as I don't feel like roaming around the shopping mall. I spent time thinking where to have my dinner and I was so engross to it that I didn't realize I was few seconds away from my house already. I just looked for something to eat from our fridge as I watch TV. And I ended up cooking ham fried rice. It was so delicious, yummy!

Pinoy resto

I saw in today's newspaper that my neighboring shopping mall is having 20% off storewide from today until October 27 and so I grabbed the opportunity of getting something for my daily intake. This is what I got.
Just right after I purchased my stuff, I got a call from a friend inviting me for a pinoy food dinner. And since I have no plans for the night, I ended up in Lucky Plaza having tapsilog and my all time favorite brazo de mercedez. Grabe ang sarap!

The Prayer

I have seen this video for countless of times already as my housemate Roman has a DVD of this concert. He will play it once in awhile especially during weekend if we have a good meal to share with.

I have heard a version of Andrea and Celine, Andrea and Charice, Josh and Celine which I thought really very amazing. But I will vote for this version as the greatest among all these great versions I have heard. Angie Stone nailed the song as if she was just telling a story. I imagine her like a sister telling me to take it easy as things will be better soon. The voice is so pure, it is like a voice from above.

Beautiful Planet

I love looking at this collage.

I was a minute away from my bed time when I discovered that one of my applciations can collage photos in one click. And I found a better way of testing it by collecting some of my memorable shots from the past travels I had.

Speaking of travel, I know that I still have a lot of places waiting to be visited, and one of them is Japan. Moshi Moshi! Early this year when I thought I can make it in Japan as I have checked airfares already and I even mentioned it to my three lovely friends in Japan (Gerald, Bel and Ofel). But things are not so perfect as what I wanted it to be during those times as my Uncle from USA went back in Philippines as he suffers from colon cancer. Without further decisions, I immediately booked my flight to Philippines to visit him and to be with my Dad who suffered from emotional stress when he knew about my Uncle's illness (I am a magic medicine of my parents, that is)

Newest Ninong in Town

Having someone asked me to be Ninong of their child has always been a blessing as I call it. Imagine, a Mommy and Daddy out there want you to be the second father of their child? That sounds very fulfilling huh!

As I power on my dear computer and logged into YM, I immediately received a BUZZ from my high school friend, Rheygel (my katukayo) asking me to be one of the Godfathers of his little boy. There will be a little conflict on our schedule as the baptismal falls on December 19, which is a day before I fly back home. Nevertheless, we made a covenant already that my name will be printed in the invitation, no matter what. Its either I send someone to represent me or I will just unite with my latest inaanak on Christmas day itself.

Speaking of Rheygel, let me turn back the hands of time during our high school days .........

He doesn't belong to our section but he is a good friend to some of my classmates. We were on our Junior year when Mercedes Ganao approached me to join her party (Supreme Student Council election). Mercy was running for Valedictorian and so I thought it would be nice if I were to join her party. And what position am I filling??? Well, nothing but Consort, hahaha! That was really funny as I never imagined myself to be one. And how is it related to Rheygel? Well, we were competing on the same post, haha! It was me, Rheygel and Abelardo Almayda. Hahaha! Now I am really laughing but flattered somehow as Rheygel and Abelardo were few of the most good looking guys back then (I will give the trophy to my cousin Jay tho, who I concidered the pinaka gwapo among all).

And who won the position??? Hmmm, only the council knows. Hahaha!

The Heart of the Matter

I didn't know about India.Arie until I watched Sex and the City and heard this soulful song of her. As it was just played once in the movie, I really didn't get much attention to it, although I know that the voice behind the song has an amazing talent.

After awhile, I heard the song again while my friend was playing it in his car, and there I started searching for it. I still remember how it captured me while I was listening to it. We were driving in Chinatown and I just listened to it in silence as I admired her voice. When I got it in my iPod, it never stopped playing since then. I got a few new nice songs to play, but this one will always be one of my favorites.

I better include her in my blog as this clip is an evidence of how wonderful woman she is. Her voice has a magic, it can cure actually.

Olympic Wannabe

I received this clip during the hottest days of Beijing 2008. The email was titled "Why I didn't make it to the Olympics?". It is obviously a collection of a little bit old videos of person who had a very unfortunate event in the field.

Enjoy watching, it may hurt a little bit tho.

HR Announcement

Wala ako ibang masabi but YEHEY!!!! as our HR sent the announcement just few minutes ago. Wala akong pasok sa October 27. That means, may mahaba pala akong weekend. Hmmm, bakit hindi ako nakapag-plano ng short getaway from Singapore?
Ah nga pala, I was supposed to meet few friends in Bangkok this coming October 25, pero sinara ko na muna ang wallet ko para sa darating na pasko. Tama na muna ang pangsariling kapakanan, this time I need to sacrifice a little for my family.
8. Kumain maghapon or mag-diet maghapon
9. etc etc etc .... and many other etc

How much Vitamin C is required?

I finished my vitamin C (left image) just a couple of days ago and I haven't purchased a new one yet as I am contemplating on how much vitamin C I should take everyday. I think I have an idea now based on this article I found in the web.

******************

There is a large amount of difference of opinion on the Recommended Daily Allowance of Vitamin C.

The RDA in the United States is a minimum of 40 mg a day for men, and 30 mg a day for women, and that smokers require as much as 100 mg. However, many doctors and nutritionists are suggesting that the most advantageous amount is a minimum of 200 mg daily. An exhaustive review to determine how much Vitamin C is required was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that doctors should counsel patients to avoid regular daily doses of over 1 gram, or 1000 mg.If you are Vitamin C deficient, the biggest risk is scurvy. Scurvy in this day and age is very uncommon, and you would have to virtually consume no Vitamin C at all to be at risk. Deficiencies of this Vitamin however are linked to shorter lifespans and a greater risk for heart problems. Toxicity or overdose of Vitamin C is not fatal, but will cause uncomfortable effects such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea. These effects can be treated as quickly as onset occurs by simply decreasing your supplement dosage. Further, if levels are too high, you run the risk of interfering with copper absorption, so if you are taking high levels of Vitamin C, ensure you are getting adequate supplementation of this mineral elsewhere.

For optimum health, a good dosage guideline is 500 mg a day from the diet and/or supplementation. Because of its antioxidant effects, Vitamin C is very effective when consumed with other vitamins that have antioxidant properties like Vitamin E.

Ordinary Days

I was all alone over the weekend as my two housemates were nowhere to be found. The other one is in Philippines for some corporate- slave thingy while the other one has always been into his very irregular work schedule. My good buddy joe is also not in town (attending a wedding in Jakarta) and will only be back next week.

My Sunday was fine but boring. I cleaned house and made my room shiny in just 30 mins. Oh, by the way, our house is always very clean. Actually, we have a maid that cleans our house once a week but she was always complaining that she's having hard time cleaning the house cos there is nothing to clean at all. Our friends who visited our house has always been having the same comment that our house is very clean that it looks like no one is staying there. Why is it so? I also don't know :)
Don't tell me that "someone" (cannot be seen by the naked eye) is cleaning? Oh my god!
I have a confession to make (well, of couse myself knew this), I am so afraid of the ghost! I hate them so much. The fact that they are not real is not helping me to be scared. I used to like watching ghost movie when I was a little younger (like 4-5 years ago), but not now anymore. I remember this incident where my housemate was watching a tagalog horror movie in our living room .... and I just hated it. I closed my room and played a loud music so not to hear the sound effects of the horror movie playing outside. I can watch vampires or some kind of monster movies, but not a ghost (you know, like a real human that suddenly stands behind the door of a fridge when you closes it). I hate that ....
Why am I telling this story? It is because, I have few friends who have encountered an explainable incidents in our house. One of my housemates who happen to have a so-called "third eye" have seen many creatures aside from me (hahaha).
Last night was really funny cos he was in the house, while I was preparing my dinner in the kitchen, (ham and cheese sandwich after a 4-km run) we chat a little bit, and while we were talking, the light suddenly turns off by itself. The funny thing was, he shouted louder than me. Hahaha! I was supopsed to be the one afraid to death but he was the one who turned on me. And while he was about to tell many stories of ghosts, I immediately cover my ear and started to sing loud so not to hear any of his crap words.

Max Payne

I lazed around the house for almost wholeday (I went to office at 8 AM but it only took me 30 mins to finish my job. Had a quick breakfast at McDonalds and went back home). I continue watching the Bourne collection in the afternoon while looking after for my washing-dirty-clothes ceremony.
I called my sister as I kind of missing Andie. And as always, my conversation with my nieces won't last without them asking me to send money for their malling. And since it is almost less than two months to go before I go back home, they have already planned for our outing. I got their suggestions on which hotel we should stay and where should we buy this and buy that ..... Whew! It will going to be a $$$$ vacation for me.
Nakatulog ako ng 5:30PM, then wala na akong maisip na gagawin after I woke up at 7PM. This sent me to the nearby theatre and watched Max Payne.

When I Grow Up

Nicole is my flavor of the month, not because she is half Filipino but its more of the talent she got, not to mention she is also very pretty.

I was captivated by their new single "When I Grow Up" cos they really look hot in there. I saw the news last night and they just blew the roof of the Opera House in Sydney as they performed this song.

Kindergarten Picture

I was a little upset on this day cos my partners in crime were not in town, that only means I have to be home earlier than usual cos I have nowhere to go.

Just after a minute before I finally knocks off from office, I got a YM message from Len (my childhood friend) telling me that she found a treasure in her "lumang baul". I got really so excited that I waited for this treasure to be sent on my mailbox.

I should say that Marvin is the cutest among the boys, while Maribel represents the girls. Hahahaha! Ayoko na tawanan yung iba (including myself na mukang mongoloid, hahaha!!!).
I want to give credit to our teacher, Miss Limos. Look at her, she looks like a star surrounded by innocents, hahaha!. Hmm, wondering where she is now .....

Healthy Dinner version 2

I really thought of spending time after work in the nearby field to have some stretching and running, but I got an SMS from a friend who wants to visit Fox and so I just cancelled my initial plan and turned out to be a good meal ...... after all. My friend brought along his German friend Kenneth and I was a little inspired to know that he just came back from a five-day visit to Mindanao.

I have to agree with my Aunt from Canada, she once said that visiting Philippines is now a luxury. For people like me who is a permanent resident of another country, I really find it very difficult to be in attached to all the nice places in Philippines. I am hungry for Philippines, that is).

So much for my sentiments. Let me stick on my blog title. I had pastrami, at least I didn't eat sinful food in exchange to my workout.
Ako sa kainan. There is an Xbox 360 in this diner and it adds up on my intention to keep on coming back.

Healthy Dinner

I went to my friend's sandwich house for a healthy dinner tonight and I got this mouthwatering smoked chicken sandwich with cheese. And as a paying customer and friend, I got 40% off my total bill. And not only that, I also got free rhum and raisin smoothy. Pag nga naman suswertihin ka talaga :)

On Medical Leave

I am on medical leave today as my ever irritating twin headache is on attack again. I went to my company doctor at 10AM and she gave me the same medicines I always take everytime I am suffering. This time, we talked about consulting specialist and that I have to check with my HR if it will be covered so my wallet will be saved.
That only means, that I stayed home all day.

But of course, I have to make my stay worthwhile and entertaining which made me checked some dvd titles. I found this.
I cannot finish the 3 titles in one day cos it will set my eye into trouble. While watching Jason Bourne, something flashes on my mind ..... I remember I have a picture with him when I went to Universal Studios in L.A.

Domesticated Monday

It was a very busy Monday in office. I was really exhausted at the end of the day so I thought of doing something that will somehow destress me from a long day of kayod at work.

So tonight, instead of the usual way of thinking where to eat, I changed it a little bit by cooking simple stuff.

But before anything else, let me just have a quick strike at this spot first, hahaha!
And the concert begins ..... There goes my quicky cooking. A fried rice, and a chiken breast coated with flour and a bunch of halu-halong rekado para magkalasa kahit papano.

Just do it ....

I have seen this clip quite sometime ago. And today, I am posting it here as I received it again from Ate Josie (Sta. Cecilia choir member). It is a powerful tool to waken up someone's spirit who have fallen asleep for decades of disbelief and lacking of self-esteem.

I was really touched by this as it conquers almost the impossible thing to do. In life, I have so much to complain with, and I have tons of doubts whether I can make it or not even without trying it. This video tells me that I can do things even if sometimes it is beyond what my mind can imagine.
There can be miracle when you believe :)

Sakae Sushi

It was a homey Sunday as I stayed all day long in the house cleaning and washing my dirty clothes. I got satisfied with Spam as my brunch. I didn't call my mom today, I will just do it sometime next week.

It was 5:00PM when I decided to went out for dinner. I sms my friend Joe to accompany me and asked for his suggestion of a nice place to eat. We fought over Chinese vs Japanese food. At least we have something to talked about, that was deciding where to eat. And oh well, Japanese food made it. We went to Sakae Sushi. It was my first time in this Jap resto and I thought this place is kinda cool. Each table is allocated with its own personal computer where you can place your order. That was really cool! BUT ..... after browsing the menu thru the pc, I got frustrated cos I was so hungry already and yet I still haven't placed my order yet as I ended up getting dizzy. I just need to eat, I dont want to touch mouse and do some clicks just to eat!!!

If it's not because of this cute mouse, I think I will really shout and scold everyone in this restaurant cos I cannot order online. Hahaha!

I noticed that there are so many Filipinos working in this restaurant. Really Singapore is slowly getting invation from Philippines.
Anyway, finally I got my food. I had green tea, miso soup, chicken teriyaki which comes with 3 different sticks with mushroom, grilled salmon and scallop.
We ordered some side dishes like soft crab and deep fried salmon. Our image before eating. I just loved the foods. For $49, I think this is not bad for a weekend delight :)

As we almost cannot walked from eating isang baldeng food, we decided to walked around Orchard to burn the fats we just consumed. And guess what we found for burning it ...... CHARAN! chocolates :(If my mom is with me, surely I will be scolded. My mom is a little bit strict when it comes to foods I eat cos I am really so matakaw! I like to eat supper. But an unhealthy supper as I like eating junk foods at night like potato chips, soda, chocolates, etc.

I am really not happy to see all these.

But then again, I sent all these to the cashier and went home sad as it will add up kilogram to my body again, and yet happy cos I will have something to eat as I watch telly.

Saturday Night @ Home

I was supposed to meet friends for dinner but there was a huge miscommunication among all of us that sent me on having my dinner alone right after I attended church at 7PM. I got quality time for myself alone as I spent few minutes in Gramophone looking for a latest dvd title that I might probably end up purchasing one. But thank my "takaw-tingin" attitude cos I didn't buy any cos I realized that I still have bunch of dvd titles left unwatched in the house.

I reached home quite early. I didn't realize that my housemate is leaving on the next day for a bussiness trip to Manila so I decided to catch up a little time with him cos we dont get to see each other even if we are staying in one roof. And what can we expect when two balls gathered, that only means .... alcohol.

At first, we just had Absolut Pears, it is Absolut's new flavor. It leaves a nice smell, that's the reason why I like it so much.

After we finished the left out of vodka, we opened this red wine. And by the way, this wine is quite pricy. It costs $80. My tongue is loving it, hahaha! I got really so drunk last night that sent me taking my own picture from the reflection on this mirror in our dining room.

Working on Saturday

I got to work today and the rest of Saturdays of October. Hmm, not really considered a heavy work as I only need to check on server backup which only eats less than an hour of my time. And so I completed my job at about 9AM, where I also ready to take off.

Ang again, I had hard time deciding where to have my breakfast, for a short while, I thought of cooking corned beef. That brought me to the supermarket. But when I passed through Mcdonalds, I saw these kids with a bunch of smile on their faces as they eat pancakes which sent me drooling.
And there goes my breakfast. From cooking corned beef to ordering pancakes. I have here my hot coco, hash brown, 3 pcs of pancake, sausage, syrup, butter, and lots and lots of chilli.

Friday

My colleagues were so lazy on going out for lunch, and so I ended up walking alone at this newly renovated food centre in Cineleisure where I had fish and noodle. I walked around the shopping mall trying my luck at Nike store whether they already hold my running accessories on sale. Unlucky me, it is still on its net price. Then I went to Apple store. I really like the new ipod :( Now I am wondering how to dispose my ipod video so I won't waste much money by changing to this latest ipod.
I also checked out some headphones as my headphone's right piece isn't playing well anymore. But I guess, I just have to ask Mathel (my friend from Philips) to get me their product to enjoy 20% off, hahaha!

But this one was the highlight of my lunch break ..... on my way back to office, I heard a car beeping from the other side of the road and he was waving hand at me. I had hard time recognizing who drives the car cos of the light reflection. But as I approached the car ..... dang! it was a silver Jaguar! and Bernard (my friend) was driving it. OH goodness gracious me! I was blown away by his car. I don't get to see Bernard driving as we always catched each other in a shopping mall or in a cafe, that's why I really got shocked to see he drives a Jaguar. Whew! He is so hot.
===================================================================
And when the dinner comes ....... I received call from Karyn again. So we had dinner at Pinoy resto and had tapsilog and free flow iced tea.
On our way out from the Lucky Plaza, I saw this "nakalakihan" kong mane .... ang nagaraya! Sarap.

Air ticket for Mama, Papa and JC

I finally booked their ticket next year. I can't wait to see JC roaming around Singapore, surely tataba dito yun sa sarap ng mga foods na pwede nyang tibagin everyday.

After I finished my obligation to my family, I decided to walk outside and breathe fresh air as my headache is still on. I went out at 10:40PM and walked around Toa Payoh area for almost 30 minutes. And that actually gave me a good feeling after walking such distance. It was also a good thing that I cannot bring money with me everytime I wear my running outfit, else, I will end up in the nearby cofffee shop, eating non-stop.

And tonight, I am ready for a good rest, for tomorrow is another beautiful day.

Sakit ulo - sarap iuntog sa pader

For three consecutive days in a row ..... sobrang sakit pa din ng ulo ko.

God of War - The End

I finally finished God of War!

It was a good ccompany for almost a week of playing this very high resolution game. I can say that this is one the best games ever landed on my console. It has a realistic story that one can really dwell and be on it as when you play it.

Oh but anyway, I conquered the game. YEY.

Weekend (October 3-5)

I had a terrible headache last Friday :(
And this headache had sent me to The Cathay for my 'happy rice box' lunch hoping that this meal will ease my pain. After I ate lunch, I called my Mom and chat with her for quite a long while. There she told me that she and Papa would like to spend their birthdays here in Singapore coming Feb 2009. Of course, I got excited and too emotional that I checked the airfare right after we talked.

Later of the day I realized that I had a slight fever due to the small burn on my leg I got from my beloved iron.

After work, I met Karyn and she bought me tapsilog, we eventually shared Friday night together where we walked around Paragon, saw Mathel, looked for a gift for her mom and dad (lintek, ang mahal ng mga gusto nyang bilin, a neck tie from Louis Vitton which costs $250) ... had tiramisu at Coffee Bean, then finally, (as I cannot resist my headache anymore) we bought Panadol, and made her call her mom all the way from Philippines just to ask Tita what is the best Panadol for me.
It was midnight when I met Matthew and Joe for our Big Stan date at 12:05AM. There ware few scenes where I laughed out loud, but this movie is no-special to me. I even told my friends that Rob is half filipino just to find in the middle of the movie that it was kind of dragging. The story was awful, I thought the writer has nothing else to do to have a thought of writing the concept of a guy wanting not to be raped in prison. I mean, who wants to be raped in the first place? From that concept, the writer made a story to last for 1.5 hours.

Sunday (October 5) - I went to FnS. Then we moved to Vivo City and spent dinner at this Hong Kong restaurant with Joe's cousin from Indo where I had steam-buttered rice with beef steak. Reached home at about 10PM, thanks Matt for sending me home.

God of War

I don't use to play when I am in the bus or in the train kasi i get dizzy easily. But not recently, parang hindi ko mabitiwan ang PSP once I turn it on.

Holiday in SG

(Sept. 30, 2008), I went to FnS to have dinner. There I met Carmen. We had a long chat with Matthew and Joe.

We proceed to Great World City and had my favorite McDonalds cheeseburger (that was after I just had my dinner, grabe sa takaw). Then we catched 12:20AM movie, Eagle Eye.

So right after I woke up, I showered and had lunch (lunch pa ba ang 4:00PM?). I went to Crystal Jade with Joe. We had a feast, ang dami naming kinain. Here are some images I took while we were having our lunch.

Hor Fun - sarap ng sauce

Fried Dim Sum

Cuttle Fish

Dalawa lang kumain jan :))
